THE ANNUAL CESAR CHAVEZ CELEBRATION HOSTED BY CITY OF CARSON FORMER COUNCILWOMAN JULIE RUIZ-RABER WILL BE HELD AT SOUTHBAY PAVILION FOR THE 4TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR!

March 25, 2014 – Carson, CA – SouthBay Pavilion, located at 20700 Avalon Blvd., Carson CA 90746, celebrates Cesar Chavez Day on Saturday March 29, 2014 from 12pm – 3pm, hosted by former Councilwoman Julie Ruiz-Raber and Ralph Figueroa for the 4th consecutive year.

The following performers will be featured:

• Angelina Vargas (vocalist)
• Passion Latina (non-profit group)
• Mariachi Academy (non-profit group)
• Grupo Folklorico FAISAN (non-profit group)
• Mariah & Sarah (vocalists)

In addition to the customary program of stage entertainment, SouthBay Pavilion is hosting a Poster Contest for students K-8th grade. Three winners will be selected from each category: k-4th grade and 5th-8th grade. The winner from each category will be awarded a SouthBay Pavilion gift card; 1st place a $100 gift card, 2nd place, a $25 gift card and 3rd place, a $10 gift card. To be eligible to win, participants of the WHO IS CESAR CHAVEZ POSTER CONTEST must follow all of the rules and regulations found on the southbaypavilion.com website.

“The poster contest will be a great addition to the annual event” says Julie Ruiz-Raber, “It will definitely help bring the focus back on Cesar Chavez.”

This event is free and open to the public.
