SPARK OF LOVE TOY DRIVE IN CARSON
“SouthBay Pavilion Mall collaborates with ABC7 and LA County Fire Department for the first time!”
Carson, CA (December 14, 2010) – SouthBay Pavilion Mall, located at 20700 Avalon Blvd., Carson, CA is hosting the ABC7 and LA County Fire Department Spark of Love Toy Drive.
To add more fun to this year’s toy drive, SouthBay Pavilion has launched a Tree Decorating Contest for local groups and organizations in hopes to increase toy collection. The groups were required to use recyclable materials to decorate the trees. The public can then vote for the winning tree by grabbing a tag from the tree they like the most and bringing it to the Guest Services Booth with their toy donation.
The SouthBay Pavilion Mall Santa Claus is also proud to support the Sparks of Love toy drive by offering his North Pole Express Limousine (currently displayed at the south entrance of the mall) as an extra storage for the toys! SouthBay Pavilion Mall and the local organizations involved are hoping to collect enough toys to stuff Santa’s Limousine!
On Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 7pm, SouthBay Pavilion will be hosting a “Toy Drive Finale” event featuring live entertainment. The winner of the tree decorating contest will be awarded a catered party sponsored by Southbay Pavilion, which will be presented by the LA County Firefighters themselves!

Economic Development Group, YFSC-PIA (Youth Family Student Community – Partnership in Action), and the National Venturing Awards and Recognition Program by the Boy Scouts of America venture crew 120/19.

About Spark of Love Toy Drive
For 18 years, ABC7 and firefighters from Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties, along with the Los Angeles City Fire Department, have joined forces to run the "Spark of Love Toy Drive". This campaign collects new, unwrapped toys and sports equipment for the under served children in our communities. Toys collected in the respective counties are distributed locally. Last year alone, "Spark of Love" collected over 500,000 toys within all five counties and we want to top that total this year, so please help the firefighter´s ignite a spark of love in a child´s heart.
