SOUTHBAY PAVILION THINKS YOU CAN DANCE

Celebrating the Second Annual National Dance Day!

Carson, CA (June 22, 2011), SouthBay Pavilion partners with Hype Studios and KPA Fusion Dance Repertoire to produce a three (3) hour show called “National Dance Day in the South Bay” on July 30, 2011 from 1pm – 3pm and give the City of Carson a Dance Production that will never be forgotten!

National Dance Day, otherwise known as “D-Day” falls on the last Saturday of the month in July. This initiative was first started by judge Nigel Lythgoe, an executive producer and judge for SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, to “encourage the nation, young and old, to move!”

“National Dance Day in the South Bay”, also supports the “Let’s Move!” campaign by First Lady, Michelle Obama, which is one of the SouthBay Pavilion’s featured Kid’s Club Activity. In an effort to prevent childhood obesity, SouthBay Pavilion has held several dance classes for kids to the tune of “Move Your Body”, an easy-to-follow Beyonce routine to support the First Lady’s project.

KPA Fusion Dance Repertoire is a local dance company known for their excellence in dance productions. They had a successful show at the SouthBay Pavilion last December of 2010 that attracted hundreds of attendees. “Their choreography and professionalism is amazing and it stopped most of the holiday shoppers in the mall that day”, says Sweeney Montinola, Marketing Manager for SouthBay Pavilion. “It was one of the best performances I’ve seen at the mall!” Imelda Pena, Customer Service Manager.

A Flash Mob is being organized by KPA Fusion Dance Repertoire. “It will be a surprise performance and only those who participate in the Flash Mob will know the routine, what time and where the Flash Mob will take place” says Katisha Adams, Co-Owner and Director of KPA Fusion Dance Repertoire. “Everyone is welcome to be a part of our Flash Mob, all they need to do is register on July 2nd at 4:30pm and show up ready to dance at the rehearsal from 5:30pm – 7:30pm at Hype Studios located at 1951 West Carson St., Torrance CA, 90501”.
