Celebrating the Second Annual Cinco De Mayo Event Sponsored by The City of Carson’s Mayor Pro Tem, Julie Ruiz-Raber
Carson, CA (May 3, 2012) – SouthBay Pavilion will host the Second Annual Cinco De Mayo Event sponsored by Julie Ruiz-Raber, City of Carson Mayor Pro Tem on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 1pm – 5pm at the SouthBay Pavilion Sun Court.
SouthBay Pavilion and Mayor Pro Tem Julie Ruiz-Raber have teamed up with Bulletin Displays LLC, Clear Channel, Comdyn LLC, Kruger Tow Incorporated, Price Transfers, Related Company, Avalon Courtyard and the Watson Land Company to provide you with the following FREE entertainment:
- Los Hijos del Sol, Latin Reggae Band
- Alma de Oro Folklorico Dance Group
- Angelina Vargas, Vocalist
- Mariachi Academy of Carson
- Celina Mora, Vocalist
- Faisan Folklorico Dance Group
- Passion Latina Dance Group
The Hispanic Community and the City of Carson will also celebrate the 100th birthday of Felicitas Somero, a very well respected woman within the community. Senora Somero will recite an original poem about the Cinco de Mayo battle of Puebla.
This event is heavily supported by the City of Carson and LA County dignitaries. The following guests have confirmed their attendance: Congresswoman Janice Hanh; Superintendent of LAUSD, Michael Romero and City of Carson Mayor Jim Dear and Councilmembers Michael Gipson, Lula Davis Holmes and Elito Santarina. Other invited guests include State Senator Ted Lieu, Congresswoman Laura Richardson, and Assemblyman Warren Furutani.
This event is one of several FREE events held annually at SouthBay Pavilion for the public to commemorate and embrace the diversity of the community. The audience will have a chance to win exciting giveaway prizes donated by participating vendors.
SouthBay Pavilion in Carson, California, is located immediately off the 405 Freeway with direct exposure to over 350,000 cars daily in the Los Angeles Trade Area.
