SouthBay Pavilion Kid’s Club features Beyonce’s “Move Your Body” Dance Workout Routine
Carson, CA (May 11, 2011) – On Thursday, May 12, 2011, from 6pm -7pm, The SouthBay Pavilion Kid’s Club, held near the Kid’s Play area in the SouthBay Pavilion located at 20700 Avalon Blvd. Carson, CA 90746 will teach a fun dance workout routine to encourage physical activity amongst children.
The SouthBay Pavilion weekly Kid’s Club has been successful in engaging children age 12 and under in fun activities including Magic Shows, Arts & Crafts, Reptile Shows, Science Shows, Puppet Shows, and more! “Our Kid’s Club has expanded tremendously due to the variety of free activities that we offer weekly” says Marketing Coordinator, Sweeney Montinola. “We are fortunate to have the opportunity to positively influence children and effectively promote art, education, and now, physical activity”.
Since March of 2011, SouthBay Pavilion has partnered with a local, certified yoga instructor from Club Yoga Kids to host a one (1) hour yoga class every fourth (4th) Thursdays of the month to enhance focus, flexibility and relaxation techniques amongst children. This month, SouthBay Pavilion will further promote the importance of healthy living by dedicating two (2) Kid´s Club sessions (May 12th, 2011 and May 19th, 2011) to teach Beyonce’s “Move Your Body” dance workout routine to the Kid’s Club attendees in support of Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move!” campaign.
Let’s Move! is a comprehensive initiative, launched by the First Lady, dedicated to solving the challenge of childhood obesity within a generation, so that children born today will grow up healthier and able to pursue their dreams. Combining comprehensive strategies with common sense, Let´s Move! is about putting children on the path to a healthy future during their earliest months and years. SouthBay Pavilion Kid’s Club is a free program that offers activities for children age 12 and under. Kid’s Club is scheduled every Thursday from 6pm – 7pm near the Kid’s Play area by Sears. Club Yoga for Kids is instructed by Amy MacConnell who started yoga five (5) years ago because of a running injury. Yoga is Amy´s passion and she is certified to teach adults, kids from infance to teenagers and special needs kids. Yoga helps kids relax and gain a strong sense of self. Kids have fun at Club Yoga for Kids and their self confidence and focus improves because of the social interaction within the classes.
