SOUTHBAY PAVILION HOSTS AN EMERGENCY RELIEF ZUMBATHON EVENT FOR THE TYPHOON HAIYAN VICTIMS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CITY OF CARSON AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS IN THE COMMUNITY

Proceeds will be donated to the ABS-CBN Foundation through the City of Carson – Filipino Relief Fund at the City Treasurer’s Office.

November 15, 2013 – Carson, CA – SouthBay Pavilion, in partnership with the City of Carson, announced that a fundraiser will be held to benefit the Typhoon Haiyan victims in the Philippines. A Zumbathon event will be held at SouthBay Pavilion, located at 20700 Avalon Blvd., Carson, CA 90746 on Saturday November 23, 2013 from 8am – 10m (doors open at 7am). Admission will be required: $20 for General Admission and $10 for Zumba Fitness members.


SouthBay Pavilion has offered complimentary Zumba Fitness classes by certified Zumba Instructors since August 2011 and has consistently attracted an average of 100 students every Saturday morning. “I believe that we will be able to raise at least $1,000 during this event. Over the past three weeks, more than 100 people have attended each Saturday class .”  Commented Sweeney Mae, Marketing Manager of SouthBay Pavilion. “The Carson Community is very supportive of charitable events and I know a lot of the Zumba Fitness students will gladly help.”


The event is open to the public and an entrance fee is required. Everyone is encouraged to make a generous contribution.  Checks should be made payable to the City of Carson – Filipino Relief Fund at the City Treasurer’s Office, 701 E. Carson St., Carson, CA 90745 (tel: 310-952-1723)
