LEARN THREE WAYS TO PREPARE A TURKEY

Carson, CA (November 16, 2010) – On Friday, November 19th 2010 at 6pm, SouthBay Pavilion Mall, located at 20700 Avalon Blvd., Carson, CA will be featuring a Thanksgiving Cooking Demonstration hosted by the Los Angeles Harbor College Culinary Arts department.

The cooking demonstration will be instructed by the head of the Culinary Arts Department, Chef Giovanni DelRosario. DelRosario is a certified Culinary Administrator, Culinary Educator, and Executive Chef with the American Culinary Federation. Receiving over 20 medals for his expertise at culinary competitions, DelRosario has conducted numerous culinary events as well as maintained titles of executive chef and corporate chef at various hotels.

 

Just in time for the holidays, DelRosario will be demonstrating three ways to prepare a Turkey. Through a step by step process DelRosario will demonstrate the simplicity of making a Thanksgiving dinner for observers.

 

There will be an opportunity to ask the Chef any cooking inquiries as well as how to prepare simple treats for the holidays.  200 pies will be given away to the audience for free. It will be on a first come first serve basis and a proof of address will be required as there can only be one pie given away to each address.

 

This is the first of the three events that the SouthBay Pavilion is hosting to celebrate the spirit of thanksgiving. This event will lead into the Turkey Giveaway courtesy of SouthBay Pavilion and the Carson Elected Officials the very next day on 11/20/10 at 1pm. Then the free health screening and gift card give-away by the Delta Sigma Theta on Sunday 11/21/10 at 12pm.

About the Los Angeles Harbor College Culinary Arts Department Founded in September 1949, LAHC is one of nine schools in the Los Angeles Community College District. With about 8,000 students in attendance per semester, the school prepares students in order to transfer to four year universities, as well as obtain Associates degrees in fields of study such as Behavioral Sciences, Business, Humanities, and Culinary Arts.  The Culinary Arts Department trains students to be able to demonstrate proficiency in commercial kitchen areas, execute the art of cooking as needed by commercial and institutional segments, of the hospitality industry, and manage a small restaurant operation.
