FIRST ANNUAL PROM DRESS GIVEAWAY

FIRST ANNUAL PROM DRESS GIVEAWAY

Benefiting Teenage Girls in Need

Carson, CA (March 9, 2011) –Commencing Friday, March 25th, 2011, SouthBay Pavilion Mall will be giving away in excess of 100  previously owned formal dresses which the Mall has been collecting since December of 2010. SouthBay Pavilion Mall is partnering with selected local high schools to identify  financially disadvantaged students, so they may have the opportunity to attend their school’s formal events,

Many families in the area are cutting back on expenses due to various economic situations. For some high school students, this means missing out on the opportunity to attend any formal dance function, such as their prom.

Fortunately, the South Bay area has a community that truly cares and wants to give our local teens a complete high school experience. “We’ve received formal dresses from donors throughout the South Bay area”, said Imelda Pena, Customer Service Supervisor. “Many of the donated dresses have been received in bundles from families who have multiple teenage girls in their households”.

SouthBay Pavilion is also hoping that companies will donate services such as dry cleaning and alterations. Any monetary donations received, will be used to buy necessary supplies such as hair, nail, and cosmetic products. SouthBay Pavilion Mall is accepting formal dress donations all year round.  The give-away has been scheduled to occur annually during the months of March and April.

It is not too late to make a donation! Formal wear including dresses, shoes and accessories can be dropped off at the SouthBay Pavilion Customer Service booth Monday through Friday between the hours of 11am – 8pm and on Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 12pm – 7pm. For more information regarding donations please contact 310-366-6629.
