200 TURKEY AND TRIMMINGS DINNER GIVEAWAY COURTESY OF SOUTHBAY PAVILION IN PARTNERSHIP WITH TARGET


SouthBay Pavilion, Hot Dog On A Stick and The Girl Scout Troops of the South Bay Give Back To the Community With A Full Day of Events to Honor Non-Profits, Provide lunch to 100 Children, and Welcome Santa Clause!

November 18, 2013 – Carson, CASouthBay Pavilion, located at 20700 Avalon Blvd., Carson CA 90746 hosts its 3rd annual Santa Arrival Parade on Saturday, November 23, 2013 from 10 am until 6pm. This event is free to the public and everyone who participates and attends will have an opportunity to win one of the 200 Turkey and Trimmings Dinner provided by SouthBay Pavilion and redeemable at  Target, located within the SouthBay Pavilion.

SouthBay Pavilion, under management by Vintage Real Estate, LLC, since 2009, has given away hundreds of turkeys during Thanksgiving week. The criteria has changed throughout the years and this year, SouthBay Pavilion will raffle the Turkeys to the public. Everyone has an opportunity to earn a chance to win a raffle ticket for the Turkey Dinner with Trimmings Give-away by being present on November 23, 2013 and fulfilling one or all of the following tasks, in exchange for a raffle ticket(s) to be submitted in the drawing:


1. Attend the TREE Decorating Contest at 10am (earn 1 ticket).
2. Bring a Toy Donation for Sparks of Love (earn 2 tickets).
3. Vote for your Favorite Tree on Facebook (earn 3 tickets).
4. Download the South Bay Pavilion Mobile App (earn 4 tickets).
5. Show proof of purchase of  Fifty Dollars ($50) or more from any SouthBay Pavilion store (earn 5 tickets).


In addition to the Turkey Giveaway Event, the following will also take place this Saturday, November 23, 2013:


1. Zumba Emergency Relief – 8am – 10am in the Sun Court. Benefiting the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, SouthBay Pavilion and The City of Carson are working alongside multiple organizations within the community to raise funds to provide clean water and food for those who survived the disaster.


2. Tree Decorating Contest – 10am – 12pm in the parking lot facing Avalon Boulevard. Ikea, Target, JCPenney, and Sears will battle for the title of Best Decorated Tree. Each anchor store represents a local charity: Long Beach Family and Child Support, Gardena-Carson YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, and YFSC (Youth Family School and Community) respectively. People will be able to vote for the tree they like until December 13th through a facebook poll. The tree with the most “likes” will win the contest. The grand prize is a Yogurtland Holiday Party for 100 guests. All trees are donated by ‘Tis The Season tree lot. This event will be held in the parking lot facing Avalon Blvd.


3.Santa’s Arrival Parade – 12pm – 1pm starting from the parking lot into the interior of the mall. It has been a tradition that Fire Station #10 drops off Santa the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Santa will arrive at noon along with a Holiday themed stilt walker. The crowd will be lead to a parade inside the mall.


4. Hot Dog On A Stick With Santa – 1pm – 3pm in the Sun Court. Hot Dog On A Stick sponsors lunch for 100 pre-registered kids providing hot dogs on a stick and lemonade. Santa will visit each table and the parents and children will have a chance to take informal photos with Santa.


5. Spark of Love Toy Drive Launchstarting at 12pm SouthBay Pavilion is partnering with the Los Angeles County Fire Department and ABC7 to collect unopened toys for kids in need. Donations can be dropped off at the Guest Services Booth.

All of the events except for the Zumba Emergency Relief Event are free and open to the public.
